First Annual Run/Walk for
Tuition Assistance at
Diocesan Central Catholic Schools
SUNDAY, JUNE 7, 2009
INSTITUTE PARK, WORCESTER
All Are Welcome to Participate
Dash for Cash is a new event established by the Adopt-A-Student program to achieve two objectives:
- Offer ALL students attending our Diocesan Central Catholic Schools — Holy Name Central Catholic Jr./Sr. High School, St. Bernard’s Central Catholic High School, St. Peter-Marian Central Catholic Jr./Sr. High School, and St. Peter Central Catholic Elementary — an opportunity to earn credit toward their tuition accounts.
- Provide financial support through the Adopt-A-Student general fund to the Diocesan Central Catholic Schools tohelp other families in need.
How Does It Work?
Participants can be students or non-students and register either as an individual or as part of a team to run/walk (5K runf/2.5K walk) in this event. You can either enroll online (online form will be operational by the end of April) or use the registration form in the event brochure.
Entrance Fee: $30.
A participant’s entry fee goes towards the total dollar amount raised for your beneficiary, which you can designate as yourself, another student, a Central Catholic school, or the Adopt-A-Student general fund, which provides money to the headmasters to help families that need a little tuition assistance.
Participants can then solicit sponsors to raise money. For your convenience, we encourage participants to take advantage of the online registration (available at the end of April). Online registrants will receive pre-worded sponsorship solicitations that can be emailed to potential donors, which eliminates door-to-door collections and the need to keep track of donations.
Schedule of Sharing
The amount of money raised by an individual participant or team for a beneficiary attending Holy Name, St. Bernard’s and St. Peter-Marian is applied to the beneficiary’s tuition account as follows:
-
$500–2,999. 50% will offset the students 2009-2010 tuition account.
-
$3,000 –7,499. 75% will offset the students 2009-2010 tuition account.
-
$7,500 and up. 100% of the student’s 2009-2010 tuition is credited.
The amount of money raised by an individual participant or team for a beneficiary attending St. Peter Central Catholic Elementary is applied to the beneficiary’s tuition account as follows:
-
$500–1,499. 50% will offset the students 2009-2010 tuition account.
-
$1,500 –3,999. 75% will offset the students 2009-2010 tuition account.
-
$4,000 and up. 100% of the student’s 2009-2010 tuition is credited.
Example: If a Holy Name student and his/her sponsors raise $2,500, the student will receive a $1,250 credit to his/her tuition account. The remaining money will go into the Adopt-A-Student general fund.
